Mitchell is a terrible eater. I fix him a seperate meal for every meal and I am tired of doing it and am finished doing it. So in about 10 minutes we are going to eat dinner. Its Mac and cheese which he loves but it is from Deceptively Delicious had has squash in it. Its a lighter color then he is used to seeing so I know with out a doubt that he wont eat it. Should I:
A: When he is hungry later tonight let him eat but put the Mac in front of him again or
B: Tell him that after we are finished the kitchen is closed untill Breakfast so if he dosent eat tonight he can eat at Breakfast!
Which do you think?

In feeding therapy once it is gone, it is gone but you can move up snack time a little if you know he didnt eat dinner or lunch. So if you eat dinner at 6pm and let him have a snack before bed at 8pm you could move up snack around 7-7:30pm but offer him the mac and cheese. Also in feeding therapy the food has to be on the plate and they can't push the plate away but they dont have to eat it. Or if you know he will eat at least a bite or two make him eat 3 bites of the food he dosent want along with at least one perfered food on his plate. So say he loves Peanut butter sandwhich but you are having chicken and veggies, make him eat 3 bites of chicken and veggies and then offer him a small perferred food until you get him use to the idea that what you make is what you eat.
I hope I didnt confuse you and I hope it helped, good luck.

In my house i keep offering the same food until breakfast. They eventually get hungry and eat it. Prepare for crying and yelling and a fit, but it gets easier every night.
Spankins work for me.
